A few years back, I was lucky enough to visit California. I was desperate to go paddling there and so we found a kayak hire company in beautiful Morro Bay and paddled amongst pelicans and sea lions, saw amazing bird life and beautiful flowers- what an experience!
However, despite the excitement of being on the water (and warm water at that! :)) there was a bit of disappointment. The equipment was basic. The buoyancy aid was a simple centre option, the paddle was heavy and the kayak was a large cockpit, sit in type. We had so much fun but it could have been better with better kit.
With this in mind, now that I've moved to beautiful Argyll with some of the best areas to paddle and explore, I've been keen to offer kayakers the chance to hire top end kayaks for their trips.
This year, we've had visitors from Switzerland, Holland and Croatia so far who, like me, wanted to experience sea kayaking in the kind of boats they were used to using at home. With some, we've even helped with advice on accomodation and offered a pick up service to their holiday home where their kayaks were waiting for them.
Our hire/demo fleet is changing all the time and we try to cater for everyone's needs. World class boats are guaranteed- warm water sadly not :)
